Night Ferry

Sound design

Fictional demo project

A proposed sound world that makes one small boat feel full of life.

A small rust-red passenger boat crossing pale blue water beneath a low evening sky.

Original concept imagery. This treatment has no project soundtrack attached.

The imagined brief

Imagine a short crossing with very little dialogue. The picture holds on a ferry, its cabin and the water around it. Sound needs to establish distance, weather and the quiet activity inside, while leaving the scene unhurried.

Our proposed contribution

The proposed design separates the deep motor pulse, close hull movement and wider water into distinct layers. Small cabin details suggest people beyond the frame. The distance changes with the camera, so the boat remains a physical place rather than a single continuous effect. This is a fictional sound-design proposal with no playable audio attached.
